Basbousa with Cream

  • 2 Cups Semolina
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Coconut, grated
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
  • Pinch Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 Cup Yogurt
  • 1 Cup Oil, Vegetable
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 170 Grams (gm) PUCK All Purpose Cream
  • 2 Tablespoons Corn flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1 Cup Chira
  • Almonds, for garnishing

In a mixer, combine the semolina, eggs, grated coconut, ½ cup sugar, salt, vanilla essence, baking powder, vegetable oil, and yogurt

Pour ½ the mixture into a baking tray and bake for 10 minutes, or until golden

For the filling, combine milk, 1 tablespoon of sugar, Puck cream, flour, and cornflour

Spread the mixture over the baked basbousa

Spread the rest of the basbousa mixture over the filling

Bake for ½ an hour or until golden

Pour cup of Chira over the basbousa, and garnish with almonds
